MACEDON. Skione. Circa 480-470 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 15.92 g, 3 h). Head of Protesilaos to right, wearing crested Attic helmet. Rev. Σ-K-[I]-O Stern of galley to left; all within incuse square. AMNG III -. Dewing 1076. Kraay, ACGC 470. SNG ANS -. SNG Delepierre -. Rare. A nicely toned example with an unusually charming head of Protesilaos. Slightly granular surface and with a die break on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
